Stoke City wasted several excellent chances as a below-par Manchester City held on to ensure the teams played out a fifth consecutive Premier League draw at the Britannia Stadium.

City had decent spells of possession, particularly before the break, but were limited to long-range shots.

Stoke, seeking a third league win in four, played with far greater purpose.

Jonathan Walters twice wasted glorious chances and Kenwyne Jones was denied by a good block by City keeper Joe Hart.
