Meet Migaloo the Albino Humpback Whale.

Migaloo resides near the Australian coast. While the reason why Migaloo appears to be albino is unknown, it is speculated that the whale may have cancer due to the lack of protection from the sun.
However, as Reddit user blacksheep998 points out, Migaloo may be as healthy as his other whale counterparts as the Redditor explains,
“Fun fact: Whales are rather resistant to cancer. It’s believed that this is because of a phenomena called ‘hypertumors’. Basically it takes so long for a tumor to grow to a size where it will harm a creature as large as a whale that the tumor develops tumors of it’s own that actually kill it.”
Migaloo isn’t the only albino whale as Chimo, a killer whale residing in British Columbia, is also considered albino. There has also been documentation of albino dolphins as well as other oceanic creatures as Reddit user Cetaceanz writes,
“Yep, and there are other albino cetaceans out there! Off the top of my head, there’s Iceberg, an albino killer whale that lives off the coast of Russia, and Chimo, a killer whale that had a kind of rare partial-albinism. There have also been a few sightings of albino or leucistic dolphins from time to time.”
